SUMMER AT HOTEL JUNE
A breath of coastal cool in the hot LA heat….
Take the scenic route in one of Los Angele’s best kept secrets, Hotel June.
As an LA native, its sometimes hard to remember the magic that this special place holds. When a new hotel, restaurant, or bar pops up, it’s a joy to discover fresh new flavors and outlooks on the coastal lifestyle. Hotel June is the newest gem I was so lucky to stay at, located along the coast of Playa Vista.
As a member of the Proper Hotel family, Hotel June is designed by the brilliant Kelly Wearstler. With touches of beautiful wood, modern graphics, clean silhouettes, and elegant fixtures, the ambience is South African chic meets coastal cool.
With the uncertainty of travel over the past year and a half, local stay-cations have been a saving grace to change the scenery of our everyday routines. I’ve shared my favorite parts of my Hotel June stay, and hope to see you there soon!
Staycation Routine:
Coffee + Cardio:
Wake up to the warm summer sun in our chic yet minimalist room. Head down to grab a coffee and then head to their state of the art gym. I love starting the day with a combination of cardio (I loved their water rowing machine and spin bikes). Followed by circuits of weights and strengthening.
Lunch at Caravan Swim Club:
Meet Caravan Swim Club…The poolside restaurant boasted some of the best food I’ve had in LA for years. With a European seaside feel, we enjoyed fish tacos, the BEST guacamole and chips, and fresh ceviche.
Poolside Office:
Enjoying the summer sunshine by the pool while doing computer work is one of my favorite combinations. We stationed up in one of their many cabanas and got to work while enjoying the relaxing music and swaying palm trees.
Sunshine Drinks:
We closed up our laptops and ordered poolside drinks from their incredible bar. I got not one, but two Pina coladas because whats summer without some pineapple and coconut.
Dinner at Sunset:
After a quick poolside nap, it was time to get ready for dinner. We headed back to the Cabana Swim Club. We coukdn’t help but get everything on the menu, starting with delicious oysters, steak, campfire veggies, and of course ended with the Horchata Panna Cotta.
From far and wide, may Hotel June be your summer destination this season to renew your mind, body, and spirit.
